HERT TRAINING
HOIST EMERGENCY RESPONSE TRAINING

HERT THREE DAY PROGRAM
AIM
As an industry first, the HERT program allows helicopter rescue crews to execute hoist emergency procedures in a realistic and safe environment. The course design parallels aviation best practices for flight crews by providing a synthetic environment to train and evaluate crewmembers on procedures deemed hazardous to perform in flight. This program exceeds all regulatory aviation standards (FAA, TC, JAR, AFAC) and industry guidelines (IOGP, etc.) for offshore Search and Rescue and/or Hoist operations. The HERT program takes hoist emergency training from the static to the dynamic, providing positive training outcomes and improved operational capability.
CONTENT
• Hazards to aircraft and personnel during hoist operations
